Rhonda Update May 2

May 2nd, 2010

Dear Brothers and sisters,

Rhonda and I are back at the hospital.  Our room was waiting for us with a freshly made bed, a new card and new flowers.  The nursing staff greeted us as dear friends.  Now, Rhonda is in bed reading and I am reclined in a chair writing to you all, once again.

Our time at home was balm to our souls.  Seeing our St. George’s family was certainly the highlight of the day.  Each and everyone one of you are so special to Rhonda, Matthew and me.  We felt wrapped in the tenderness of your love and prayers today.  Truly the love of the saints has been precious to us.

I am also discovering the sweetness of serving my wife in new ways.  This morning I washed the surgical iodine and blood out of her hair with a wet face cloth.  I then blew her hair dry and scooted over to Wal-Mart to purchase three new hats for her, one white, one blue and one is beige.  Matthew and I thought she carried the hat off remarkably well, it maybe a new style for her in the future.

The Lord is doing a deep work in my heart and sustaining us both with a mighty arm.  Our love for each other has plumbed new depths, as has our trust in the unswerving goodness of our Heavenly Father, “… in Him there is neither variableness nor shadow of turning.” James 1:17.

I’m going to hug my wife and pray.

We love you and feel your love with cords of tenderness,

RD

  1. Dear Ray David, Rhonda and Matthew,
I am still trying to catch my breath from the impact of your news… You are in my prayers, front and centre. I know that God is able and I am joining the growing chorus of believing prayers.
May God’s grace, peace and comfort envelope you tonight.
With faith in the God who is Greater,
    Jacqueline

  2. Rhonda, Ray David & Matthew,

You don’t know us. We are friends with Peter and Darlene Lecour. Darlene told us about Rhonda’s condition and a little bit about your family. She also pointed us to the St. George’s Anglican Church website.

Your family’s faith, courage and grace are inspirational, and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

  4. Hey guys, its so good to hear from you! Last night my Mom, Dad and I were praying in the hope of a miracle for you and were so encouraged by your faith as we thought of you! As well, I talked to my grandmother, Margartha, this morning on the phone and she has also been praying for you. She said that she felt a different kind of peace through this and that God wants to show us something great. As she was praying for you she thought of a pastor she knows who was completely healed of brain cancer through Jesus and the faithful prayers of his congregation. I have never heard my grandmother speak with such hope and conviction about the Lord! He is doing something BIG! I pray that you would be encouraged today and filled with JOY and PEACE :)

  5. Hi Rhonda.
Your family has been on my mind and heart since I heard about the challenge you are facing. Our family and church family at Woodvale Church in Ottawa will be praying for speedy recovery and complete healing. God is always, always, always in control and we lean on Him to be the Healer and Provider that we know Him to be.
Much love and prayers to you and your family. We look forward to good reports ahead!

We too want to offer our encouraging words that you are being lifted in prayer by more people than you could ever even begin to imagine!

  8. Dear Glenn Family,

I saw a post on an acquaintance’s FB feed. I live in Winnipeg and we will likely never meet this side of Heaven but we serve the same amazing, loving God. I lift you up in prayer today — that the Lord heal you, physically, emotionally, spiritually. May the Lord’s will be done in your lives and may you live and love to the absolute fullest in the days ahead.

    With the love of Christ,
    Kristin

  10. Dear Glenn Family,

You don’t know me but I am a member of Church of the Messiah in Norwich (one of St. George’s Church plants). I am talking to God daily about your situation and asking for complete and speedy healing for Rhonda and that all of your family’s needs be met at this difficult time.

  11. Dear Rhonda,Ray David and Matthew,

We too are lifting you up in prayer to our Father in heaven, through Jesus our light, truth and eternal hope. As you know only so well these earthly tents are sorely tested by illnesses at so many points in life’s journey but we have an advocate and healer who is the author and creator of these temporal homes and who is mighty in healing, mending, restoring and making all things whole again. So we boldly approach the throne on grace with hearts yearning in and through the Holy Spirit in prayer to Christ our intercessor for mercy and grace to be poured out from the Father to meet both of you, Rhonda and Ray David at your deepest point of need in these days of great trial. We join both of you in unwavering faith as we compeletely trust and know that the awesome goodness and abundant mercy of our loving God will sustain and uphold you both and bring you safely through these times. There is no safer place, no place of greater peace or hope, no state of awareness or foundation of faith greater than where both of you, and all the saints who are upholding you in prayer, can be…in the loving heart of Christ our risen Lord and Saviour. Alleluia!
May He speak tenderly to your hearts tonight as He wraps all three of you in His love and holds all three of you close while He watches over you and delivers you safely to the dawning of the coming new day.

Your brother and sister in Christ,
    Stephen & Marilyn
