Rhonda Update April 30 – Evening

April 30th, 2010

Dear St. George’s Family,

Rhonda and I are resting on your prayers like never before.

The surgeons performed the biopsy this afternoon.  It was successful in that they were able to extract 4 viable samples.  It was also successful in that Rhonda came through without any complications.  The complete biopsy results will not be available until at least Thursday and Friday of next week.  However, the initial results confirmed the surgeon’s worst first guesses.  Nothing is conclusive until Thursday or Friday and nothing is truly conclusive until our Master has His say.

Having said that, our surgical team believes the tumor to be malignant and fast growing.  They also confirmed that it is in a terrible location.  For both of these reasons surgery does not seem to be an option.

We are wrestling and hurting under this bad news, but determined not to get out ahead of the conclusive biopsy results.  Treatment options are limited at this point, to say the least.  We need a miracle.  God alone can bring my wife through this.

Our earnest prayer is for a miracle of divine intervention and complete healing.

Ken organized a wonderful prayer meeting in our hospital room this morning.  I guess around 20 people jammed into our room to pray, lift our voices together in worship and faith and to hear from God’s word.  At one point I mentioned to Ed Lewis that I was concerned we would get thrown out.  He reminded me that we have been thrown out of better places.

Rhonda, Matthew and I love you dearly.  Your emails, phone calls, messages and visits are tangible signs of God’s love and care for my family.

Trusting the goodness of our Father,
RD

P.S.  I just read this aloud to Rhonda and she asked me to add that she really loves the visits.  They have brought pleasantness to otherwise bleak days.

P.P.S. The picture was taken outside.  Rhonda, Matthew, Ed, Donna and I sat in the garden for an hour or so awaiting surgery.  The green dots on Rhonda’s head were used to guide the surgical location devices.  Please pray for Rhonda’s incision tonight.  She is resting on painkillers but has told me it is very sore.

  1. May our divine and most gracious Lord always be present with you at this difficult time. May His mercies be mighty, and his miraculous hand pass over Rhonda and remove this tumor, and declare her to be cancer free. I ask this Oh Lord in your name the only name above all names, Jesus name. Use this woman oh lord to bring others into your kingdom, and through her show the world that you are alive and that you are always faithful. May Rhonda, David and their son know and feel your peace which only you can give.
    God bless you all,
    Mary Hart

  8. Hello dear Rhonda. I am the lady that you interviewed on July 28 on Huntley Street when you questioned me about my experiences with the occult and my program called Locks and Keys. I have several friends that have been healed by our God from what Doctor’s called impossible situations. They have amazed the doctors and are living examples of signs and wonders. Their healing was a sign of God’s Glory and made the doctors wonder about the reality and power of our God. That’s one way Jesus works—-beating the impossible!!! May your healing light up those dark hospital hallways with God’s Glory. Bless you and your dear family with God’s peace. You are so loved. Sue Smith

  9. Dear Ray David, Rhond and Mattie–

Praise the Name of Jesus! At His name, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Indeed Jesus is Lord over every every part of Rhonda’s body, and in the Name of Jesus we pray for healing. We serve a God of great miracles! (I mean, look at what He has done with the ACNA!) I am so sorry for this difficult season, but it is with great faith that I know you will have an incredible testimony giving God the praise and the glory in your experience.

My heart is with you all.

    Love in Christ,
    Jenni Bartling

  10. Hello Rhonda,
We have never met but I know you through seeing you on television, and I know Ray David and his wonderful parents from Queensway Cathedral where I attended a number of years ago.
I just want you to know you are in my prayers daily, as is Ray David and your dear son. May you know God’s precious love and strength at this very trying time. I am praying and agreeing with everyone for a miracle for you.

  11. Dear RD,

Geoff and I have been heartbroken over the news of your dear wife’s illness. Having enjoyed such a lovely and inspiring dinner with you one week ago (thank you) … and then hearing this shocking news the next day … words can barely convey the sadness we feel. We are praying for you daily and hoping each day for God’s goodness, comfort, healing and presence with you and your family. God’s Peace – Geoff and Becca

  12. Dear Rhonda, Ray David and Matthew,
Although you don’t know me, I have appreciated and enjoyed your ministering in Jesus name . The e-mail about the need for prayer arrived in mine and many other mailboxes. This was taken to my Bible Study/ Prayer Group this morning. What I do know is that we are family in the Lord Jesus Christ and many prayers are being lifted to the Lord on your behalf. Nothing is impossible with God. You are in His.
I pray the presence of His loving arms, comfort, strength and peace beyond all understanding. All hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We will continue to praise the Lord, pray for each of you and pray for a miraculous healing.
    Love in Christ Jesus,
    Sharlene
