Rhonda Update May 6

May 6th, 2010

Dear St. George’s Family,

Today was the waiting day. Our surgeons told us to expect the biopsy results by Thursday or Friday, and it looks like Friday.

Again today we were blessed with a steady stream of beloved friends. Each visit was different and each one tender and sweet. This afternoon Rhonda enjoyed an at-home manicure and pedicure, a very special gift from Robin Lynn. She is so proud of her pink toenails. Rhonda is dear.

I sit at the computer tonight considering my raw feelings. I am grateful to our God and humbled at the mighty army of prayers rallying around my family. We are particularly thankful for those of you bold enough to pray for miraculous healing. The results we get tomorrow will establish our treatment options and shape the decisions we make from this point forward. Whatever the pathology reports we will continue to give thanks to God for the doctors but place our trust in the Great Physician.

I trust Jesus with my wife and my son.

He is trustworthy. His love never fails.

“Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry. His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.”

Psalm 147:7-11

The Psalmist reminded me this morning that the pleasure of the Lord is not placed on strong beasts or human ability, but on those who simply hope in his steadfast love. I find myself returning time and time again to His unswerving covenant goodness; His steadfast love that never fails.

Matthew is in bed after a long day at school and swinging on his new swing set. Rhonda is waiting for me downstairs. I will not make her wait any longer.

Cherished family and friends, hope in the steadfast love of the Lord.

RD

  11. praying for you and your sweet family, have watched Huntley St. for a long time. Blessings to all.

  12. Dear Rhonda, Ray David and Matthew:
Again My Wife and I find you in our prayers and we are praying for the miraculous healing that only Jesus can give. We pray for strength for you and your St. George’s Family at this time.
I know that there are so very many holding you in prayer here in Newfoundland.

  13. I had the wonderful opportunity to be interviewed by Rhonda on 100 Huntley Street. In the name of Jesus, may GOD provide a miracle healing. As I sit in my home in New Brunswick, I feel a love and connection across this country that I don’t think I have experienced before, the prayers of many are reaching heaven’s throne and covering your little family and home.

  14. Rhonda, RD, and Matty,

For me, today is like the very first day I prayed for you and this circumstance in the way that I have not lost hope. But it is a day which will be filled with a greater sense of peace and at the same time urgency as I praise, intercede, and plead.

    2 Corinthians 4:7-18

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life in you.

But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE,” we also believe, therefore we also speak, knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

  15. Hello Rhonda
You are the reason I started watching 100 Huntley Street. It was so great to hear from someone with whom I could relate – a thinking, caring, Christian.
Thank you and may God bless and heal you. I pray for his Mercy and the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  16. Dear Rhonda,
My husband and myself have been faithful viewers of Huntley St. for years. We feel as if we know you, Ray David and your precious little Matthew. We were so shocked to hear of your Illness, but God makes no mistakes! We are praying for you, for His Grace to enable you to continue living in His strength each day,and of course for His will in healing you. We love you…and He loves you so much!
