Rhonda Update May 13

May 13th, 2010

Dear St. George’s Family,

Today is the day of doctor’s appointments.

Ed is taking us to the Hamilton cancer centre this morning and then on to the Toronto General in the afternoon. Our first appointment is with an oncologist who will evaluate Rhonda’s pathology report to determine if there is enough information to begin treatment. We may need another biopsy if there is not sufficient information. We are praying that there is no need for the second biopsy.

This afternoon we have an appointment arranged by Dr. Tom. For many years, Tom has helped our parishioners navigate the medical system by pointing them to the best in every field. Tom’s direction and help has been a divine grace to Rhonda and me. The afternoon appointment is with another neurosurgeon to seek a second opinion. This surgeon has access to a new technology that may open up treatment possibilities.

Rhonda, Matthew and I are deeply thankful for our medical system and for the care we have received. However, we do not put our hope in doctors, but in the Great Physician. Your prayers have been a rich fountain of love and support, a source of strength to the Glenn family and pleasing to the Master.

To this day I tear up when I think about the prayer time we had on Tuesday. Your loving care for my family is cherished. It was especially dear to Matthew. He asked if all of those people came out to pray for his mommy. I said, ‘yes’. He began to tear up as well. Dear friends and family you are the vehicles through which God loves my wife and son. Your kindness is writing the script of Matthew’s life. Thank you.

I will report on the day when it is over.

Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks to God daily. Do not quench the Spirit. 1 Thess. 5

With great love and deep faith,

RD
