Prayer Vigil: Jewels In Your Crown

On Pentecost weekend, St. George’s spent 38 hours of straight prayer for the lost. 39 members of our congregation took shifts throughout the day and night and cried out to the Lord for the sake of our unsaved loved ones. Hundreds of names of the unsaved were plastered on the walls of the chapel and were prayed over throughout the weekend. There were also prayer posters that people were encouraged to write prayers, scriptures and words from the Lord upon. Here is what was written.

Words & Visions

  • AWAKE! Open your eyes and see His glory.
  • The goodness of the Lord leads to repentance. Romans 1:4
  • I am sending YOU into my harvest fields.
  • No bond of satan is too strong for our Lord’s freeing hands to break.
  • Christ on the cross, not in the grave, the finished act, it is done, nothing to add. Accept. Believe. Share.
  • Those who sow in tears will reap in joy! Psalm 126:5-6
  • …able to do so much more than we can ask for or even think of… Ephesians 3:20
  • I am pleased with these days of prayer, but praying for the lost must be more than an event. It must be a lifestyle. I hear the consistant, persistant prayers for those that you love. Trust me.
  • The Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing towards you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
  • If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scriptures has said, ‘out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ John 7:37-38
  • Isaiah 60
  • But now thus says the Lord he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1
  • This day is holy to the Lord; do not mourn or weep for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
  • Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4
