Rhonda Update May 3

May 3rd, 2010

Dear St. George’s Family,

I am at home tonight with Matthew. It is Rhonda’s first night alone in the hospital. Please pray for both of us. We thought it was time for me to spend a night with Matthew; so Rhonda will spend this night alone in the hospital bed we have now shared for a week.

We were all at home today. Rhonda is tired and weak. She spends most of the day in bed, but we did manage an early evening walk. She and I are cherishing every small grace.

Waiting for the pathology reports has been both difficult and grace-filled. The uncertainty has been difficult. The depth of the riches of your love has been a clear demonstration of God’s grace inclined toward us.

Thank you for your continued prayers, visits, emails, Facebooks and phone calls. So many of you dear friends have helped out in so many ways. The meals have been delightful. We are overwhelmed and deeply grateful to our Father for each of you.

After receiving a welcome and generous gift from the Philippian church St. Paul wrote,

“Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble … not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit … the gifts you sent, [were] a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

St. Paul, Philippians 4

Your generosity and your love for my wife and my family have brought glory to God, ensured His provision in every need of yours and been a most welcomed sharing in our trouble.

Leaving Rhonda’s room tonight was heart wrenching. Matthew and I laid hands on her cherished head and we prayed. Matthew prayed for his mom’s healing. I prayed that Jesus would meet her in the dark of the night. I asked that she would know the comfort of a Saviour and Healer who never leaves. I asked that, tonight, He would watch over her when I could not.

Dear saints, Jesus is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him. When everything else is stripped away we truly discover that Jesus is enough.

With abiding love for each of you,

RD

  1. Peace and comfort and strength and the red hot presence of the Almighty Holy Spirit be with all three of you tonight, in Jesus’ name.

  2. Good Evening Rev. Glenn and Matthew. I responded several days ago. I am not a part of the congregation, I am a partner of Huntley Street and on their mailing list. My continued prayers for all of you, especially for dear Rhonda. I wish I lived closer to your community, then I could try to make a meal for you folks. What I sure would love to be able to do is to treat Matthew to McDonald’s supper or something like that. Praying for a miracle of healing for dear Rhonda. My love and prayers to you all.

  3. We pray, RD, and we pray some more. And then when we’re done, we pray again. All of this in obedience and with great love for Rhonda and for you and for Matthew, but mostly for the glory of the Father.

  8. Dear Ray David, Rhonda & Matthew,

It was so good to see you all this evening & to give Rhonda a hug as you all have been in our thoughts & prayers over the last few days, however, until this evening had not heard the prognosis. (Was happy to find your site & will pass along to those who I know will help pray for you all)

I understand that Matthew will want to spend most of his time with you both, however, if he wants to come over for a playdate for an hour or so one day, just say the word! We’d love to have him. (and by the way…Katelyn & Ben have been practicing their hockey skills lately…but they are no MATTHEW GLENN!!)

    Lots of Love

  11. It’s 4 am and I couldn’t sleep. I barely know you guys, but I have been following along in the updates and praying for you. I had missed your update from sunday and monday. So I was eager to see how you all were doing. I have been praying for you over the past week and I am moved by your solid trust in Jesus. To Him be ALL the Glory. I’m sure I;m not the only one awake in the night praying for you three. Isn’t it amazing that you are covered in Gods love and the prayers of the saints at all times.

Jesus, you have such a heart for this woman, Rhonda and her family. I pray for her as she sleeps in the hospital tonight that you would be so clearly with her. I pray that the noises of nurses shuffling in the halls, or the beeping of the machines and the hum of the air conditioning would all simply blend together like a chorus and help Rhonda sleep deeply. I pray that your angels would sing over her as she sleeps and that you would bless her with rich dreams. I pray too for Ray David and Matthew at home that they would know your peace and comfort as they sleep. God continue to fill this time as they wait for results with encouragement and hope. To you Jesus be ALL the Glory!!

  12. You were my sons coach last year, and I have just been speaking to Jill and Paul. Rhonda, Ray David and Matty
our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time and if there is ANYTHING we can do please let us know.

love too all of you XXX

  13. Rhonda-

The office is VERY and extremely odd without you. About fifty times a day, somebody comes over to tell me how much they enjoy working with you and how much they are missing you right now. And, of course, how they are keeping you and your family in mind. Which is what I am doing right now. That, and drafting motion materials, but mostly thinking about you.

Tell Matthew that I don’t care what he says- ketchup chips are gross.

    Pippa

  14. RD,

the Prince family continues to lift Rhonda, you, and Matthew up to the throne of grace. May you know his sweet mercy this week.

    With love,

    Tripp
