Noreen Culver Updates

Here are two updates on Noreen from her husband Greg, and her daughter Alexandra.

Dear Friends….before I left the hospital tonight Noreen wanted to make sure I sent an update. She was in surgery this morning right on time at 8 AM. Procedure took just over three hours….. she now has a bionic shoulder. Surgeon told us that the embolization procedure done yesterday was very good…and there was actually little loss of blood. He said everything went well and all the new parts are installed and hooked up to whatever muscles and tendons they had to be. Noreen is still in good spirits ..albeit a bit sore and tired. I think she will just need to rest for a couple of days and hopefully she will be able to come home Saturday or Sunday…….she is looking forward to eventually being able to muck out the barn and do the chores……. We appreciate your prayers and love.

Blessings….

Greg

Dear friends,

I left the hospital at 8pm tonight, promising my mom that I would let you all know how well she is doing. I arrived around 5pm to see her sitting up on the side of her bed, having been recently disconnected from all the IV’s, including the morphine pain pump. She was in great spirits, had very little pain and decided she might like to walk around. We walked down the hall to the sun room at first, but then she decided she might like to take a stroll outside (which the nurse agreed was ok!). We walked in the beautiful weather for a while and sat on the bench overlooking the city. She was so happy to be up and around and seemed much more herself then she has the past several days. We went back up to her room briefly and sat again in the sun room for about half an hour. We then went back down to the cafeteria and shared a surprisingly good sesame rice noodle dish of some kind for dinner. We sat outside for a while more and then I took her back up to bed. She took off her sling and did the exercises the physiotherapist showed her today. Pretty good for a lady that had surgery just yesterday. We hope that she will be able to come home on Saturday. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support! We are so grateful!

Alexandra
