The role of the church in difficult times is to hold out the gospel, because the world’s most desperate need is Jesus.

Remember, there is a gift and a grace that is given to you from the Lord God and it’s not just fortitude or the power of positive thinking. It is a grace and gift of God. It is a supernatural strength found only in Jesus Christ.

Through faith in Jesus you can stand before the heavenly court with a clear conscience. You have been wrapped and clothed with Him.

Don’t just passively lap up the world’s ideas, because they are full of dissonance and lead to destruction. Discern the lies and see the world through the lens of the truth of the gospel.

If you desire is to be rich, if that is what fundamentally moves you, then you have forgotten that you are already rich i the heavenly riches of Christ.

To be a Christian man or woman is a high calling in a world lost in sin and decay. To be a christian elder or pastor is even a higher calling, as you are charged to bear the weight of not only your own soul, but also of those under your charge.

Desperation comes to us as a gift of God. Do not waste the desperate situation you find yourself in. Allow the difficulty and loneliness to press you into a deeper hope in God.

What’s the real problem with the world and our lives? Sin is the problem, and the only solution is to repent and to return to Jesus as both Lord and Saviour.

The biblical witness of God’s ordering of the home is based on the understanding that God created male and female, who are equal recipients of God’s grace in creation and salvation, yet different and distinct. Working together in the harmony God intended, they express the very glory of God.

The way that we present ourselves outwardly can reveal the state of our souls. Where do we look for love, attention and self-worth? Man or God?
